The Desert Road Mission

I did want to share with you what it was like over the Desert Road- a road that I never travelled before. I was astounded to see the landscape, the tundra was something from another planet. It really is a desert landscape and I would never have thought that it was possible considering the lush green pastures that I had past through over the past few days. It was a cold 7 degrees in Waiouru were I pulled over for a sandwich and refresher stop. This would have been the first time that would justify wearing a coat in the North Island! The volcanic ash on the side of the road is not tempting enough to stop just to feel it and maybe squish it between your toes.
